Vändåtberget Nature Reserve

Are you looking for a unique nature experience in the middle of one of the country's most valuable taiga forests? Vändåtberget Nature Reserve offers a magnificent and untouched wilderness with old coniferous forests characterized by natural forest fires. Here you will encounter an environment where pine trees almost 400 years old rise magnificently, and where a rich flora and a unique wildlife associated with the old forest and its dead wood thrive.

A cabin in the forest.

In the reserve there is a cozy overnight cabin at Inner-Abborrtjärnen with two beds and a warming stove - perfect for those who want to enjoy nature over several days. Outside the cabin there is a fireplace, a woodshed and an outhouse, making it easy to cook and take breaks in the peace and quiet.

Vändåtberget is also the final destination of the long Urskogsleden trail, which winds through the reserve and gives you the opportunity to experience the different environments of the forest. You can see traces of both old and recent forest fires - part of nature's own cycle that helps to preserve the unique and fire-affected forest.

Vändåtberget nature reserve is a place for peace and nature experiences of the highest class - a genuine primeval forest for those who want to get really close to nature.
