When the lakes are frozen and the snow is deep in the Anundsjö wilderness, a fantastic time starts, the ice fishing and the top bird hunting.
For ice fishing, you go out by car, skis or snowmobile, depending on the species and the water you want to fish. Perch and char are two species that are very active during the winter months. But if you manage to be out on the right day, trout can also be on the prowl. Spring winter is the period that most people appreciate for ice fishing as the days are longer and on a sunny day the sun warms so much that the winter jacket becomes too warm. Sitting in a sun pit, next to a fire and grilling sausages can save the most boring fishing day. But I want to make a case for trying ice fishing in all months, from the new ice when the fishing is often at its best in my opinion to an ice-cold January day where the silence and tranquility of the ice can unwind even during life's most stressful periods.

Top bird hunting for grouse and capercaillie, a hunt that is carried out on skis with a bullet gun. Without guns, of course, it is also possible as it is an experience in itself just to see Sweden's two largest forest birds. You glide along on wide wooden skis, looking towards the treetops in the hope of seeing a capercaillie sitting at the top of a bog pine. It's a physically demanding hunt, but also quiet and peaceful. Beautiful views together with a purple and violet winter sky make the hunt an experience regardless of hunting happiness!
